Principal's Message
Kia ora e te whanau
I can't believe it is the last week of Term 3, this year is flying by! I would like to take this opportunity to thank Tangowahine School students, staff, whanau, Board of Trustees and community for the support and encouragement in my first year as Principal here. It has been a full on year with a lot of learning, change and challenges but I am extremely grateful and proud to be working at Tangowahine School.
We would also like to welcome Sam Taylor who is our Junior teacher. Sam is an asset to our kura and has a passion for students learning success and well being.
We have had a lot happening this term- in the students words "animal projects, kapa haka, Daffodil day, lots of art, hockey, goat farm, show day prep, mess milkshakes, school photos, boil up, Rippa rugby, speeches, zoo planning trip".
I believe we are fortunate at Tangowahine School to be able to merge these extra activities into the students core learning subjects.
A massive thank you to our volunteers that give up their time and share their knowledge and resources with our students. We are very grateful.
Next term (Saturday 19th October) we have our school Show day. Students have been working hard this term creating beautiful master pieces for their indoor exhibits. It will be great to see some animals this year as well.
The students have also been making, creating, building and growing things to sell at Show day. The money they raise will go towards their Auckland Zoo trip in Term 4. We hope to see everyone their for a fun family day and support of TWS kids.
I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable school holiday break.
Nga mihi nui
