Charter

The Tangowahine School Charter is a series of aims and objectives that reflect our aspirations and the intended development of our school in 2015 and will guide our decision making until 2017.  To view our full School Charter click on the below button.

Our School Charter is guided by the directives and philosophies of:

  • Treaty of Waitangi

  • Education Act (1962) and amendments

  • NZ Curriculum Document: Ministry of Education, 2007

  • Gifted and Talented Learners (1999) Ministry of Education, Wellington: Learning Media

  • Key and Current educational researchers

Our learning philosophy is focused around the student’s learning and we believe it should be:

  • Differentiated, relevant and meaningful

  • Promote thinking that is caring and critical and creative

  • Build the Key Competencies in each student

  • Develop individual talents

  • Involve a child’s whole family and community

  • Reflect our bi-cultural heritage
